THE CHICEST CLUTCHES AROUND

OK Kids--Halloween is one week away and you know what that means: the countdown to party season has begun. This is your last chance to take a deep breath before thw whirlwind that is holiday madness. So we've begun to take a look around to make sure that our girls are garbed in the chicest clothing in town. Of course, we'll be posting in the next couple weeks about dresses, coats, hats, and shoes but we thought that we start with some clutches worth celebrating. For this winter wonderland, we'll be carrying mini-audieres. There's something super retro about the mini-audiere, somethign that screams Connecticut in the eraly 80s. However, rather than tap the expected Judith Leiber animal-audiere, we've turned to Kotur, who's updated the mini bag in simple chic styles, along with one by our fave Nancy Gonzalez, for good meaure. It's as if Santa came early this year . . .
*Kotur gold and silver mini-audieres. New with tags and originally retailed for $545. Priced at $240.
**Kotur multi-colored patchwork snakeskin mini-audiere. New with tags and originally retailed for $595. Priced at $270.
***Kotur gold crackle mini-audiere. New with tags and originally retailed for $845. Priced at $325.
****Nancy Gonzalez silver snakskin rectangular mini-audiere. Priced at $570.

GLIMMER GLAMOUR!!!

Everybody's going green and so are we. Quite frankly, it's for some people to save the world and for others to dress it. While we are lucky enough to hang in both camps, we certainly have a lot of experience with the latter. So in honor of our enviro-pals, we've chosen a saucy little shiny number crafted by Pucci and encrusted with sequins in a variety of palms-and-fonds greens. Mother Earth would be proud.

*Pucci Sequined geometric dress $2500. For further information or to purchase, please contact: lizzy@decadestwo.com

TOM FORD SPRING 2003 CHERRY BLOSSOM KIMONO

Um . . . I don't even know what to say about this though it goes without saying that a TOM FORD era kimono--one of four created for his Spring 2003 collection, the same of which was worn on the runway by Erin Wasson, a collectable piece created with a signature sexiness, a dramatic sleeved kimono crafted with raw-edged strips of satin embroidered with cherry blossoms needs no pomp and circumstance. So, we'll just let it live in all its glory. Shine on little kimono . . .
*Gucci Spring 2003 Kimono. In a size 40. Priced at $2400

TRUE BLUE: HANDBAGS ARE BEST IN BLUE

Ahhh, before Deborah Gibson was a Broadway stage star, she released a little album called Electric Youth. Honestly, I can't remember any of the Electic Youth tunes, but what i can recall was Gibson's use of electric blue. By picking a color that's both bright and deep, Gibson hit the sartorial nail on the head when she paired a cobalt blazer with black trim with a black hat and tee. So, I'm not suggesting that anyone run out and pick up Gibson's album; however, we're "helplessly in love" with grabbing a bright blue bag.
*VBH eelskin bag with double cross chest chain strapping. Priced at $3020
**Jimmy Choo black-and-blue animal printed pony bag. Priced at $1950

GOTTA GETCHA GUCCI ON!

Ok, I don't even know where to begin with this bad boy.

  • It's so f*in chic I just don't know what to do with myself,
  • it's large enough to tote the kitchen sink, the dog and a filing cabinet around town but not sooooo large that it looks like you've really got a piece of luggage on your arm,
  • brown is so much more luxurious than black,
  • it's got the perfect mix of hard (gold studs) with soft (suede fringe),
  • it's super duper luxurious because it's snakeskin but its not too chichi fancy that you would worry while wearing it,
  • and the two ornate golden Gucci crests are so adorable I don't know what to do with myself (though frankly, I would have them taken off of the bag and would then use one for a keychain charm and give other to my manfriend to keep his keys on too. but her not go for it. But I think its cute.) Whew . . . how about that for a bullet point presentation :)

EAST COAST CHIC!

Ok, so maybe its me. But the onset of Fall always brings me back to my roots. I don't quite know if there's a word to describe the intersection of prep and punk (Prunk?), but that's where I was born and raised. On the corner where the Misfits meet LL Bean. That being said, the moment when it dips below . . . well, 80 degress, reminds me of a time when I paired a shetland knit cardigan with a blackwatch plaid boyfriend button-down, combat boots, ripped black jeans and that chelsea girl haircut--you know, the one with the shaved back of the head and the ponytail on top. Oh yeah. So, when I spied this Oscar De La Renta lilac top, I just knew it was good waiting to go bad. Personally, I'd wear it with black lace lingerie, hermes belt and my beloved ripped black jeans/combat boot combo. And lots of gold jewelry. No need to shave the back of the head though . . .

MOLTO MISSONI!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that rains have come, it's time to finally admit: Fall is officially here. The time has come to get pack up my itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini's and break out the brown boxes stuffed to the gills with cold weather wear.

Truth be told, fall is my favorite time of year. I'm from the east coast and nothing makes me happier than a slight chill in the air. Gives me an excuse to rock my cutest, thickest, plushest, wide knit, giganto sweaters. Some girls collect stamps, some collect sweaters. What can I say . . .

A good sweater is like the adult version of a security blanket. It wraps you up and keeps you cozy. And, in the case of this Missoni sweater, also keeps you lookin' good.

*Missoni 100% cashmere geomtric pattern knit short sleeve sweater. Approximately a size Large. In mint condition and priced at $650.

WINTER WONDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited! While the idea of winter in Los Angeles usually spwans little more than an eye-roll, it's getting chilly in the City of Angels. True story. Fall is upon which means winter is right around the corner! Personally, I've already dug out my heavy jackets and thick knit sweaters but this Couture Couture jacket is so chic, I may have to have it. Unless you ladies want to to get your paws on it. I mean, a white sheared fur jacket with tiers and three-quarter sleeves?
I die. Bananas. OOC. (out-of-control. Loves it.)
*Couture Couture sheared fur tiered jacket. In mint condition and in a size 38. Priced at $1200.

WRAP IT UP: Drape Yourself in Chic Coats Come Fall

Ah Fall, our favorite time of year. Nothing like sitting back with hot mug of mulled cider, enjoying the trees as they turn from vibrant green to yellow to red to brown. Of course, we live in Los Angeles. And palm trees don't turn. And we don't even know what mulling is, let along how to do it. Sounds like it involves a kitchen though.
Contrary to popular belief, it does get chilly in the City of Angels--last night we had to turn on the heat. So, we've pulled a few of our favorite coats to consider as the colder months descend. We'd wear these for warmth any day. And all bundled up in these babies, transports us to some lush meadow, where we're sitting back with a hot mug of mulled cider, enjoying the trees as they turn from green to yellow to red to brown. A girl can dream, can't she . . .

After trucking 3000 miles across the country for a NYC pop-up, it occured to us that travel gear is as important to any fashionable femme as say her passport, or earplugs, or at $7 in cash for drink served in a plastic cup on the plane. So, we scoured our store for the chicest carry-ons and here's a few we think will have you traveling in style. Whether to Paris for the shows or to Bora Bora for a little more-a vacation, these valises complete the package.

D2 TAKES MANHATTAN!

We're pleased as punch to report that our NY pop-up shop was a smashing success. New Yorkers braved torrential rains this weekend and showed up in droves at our temporary treasure trove to get their mitts on the stylish schwag we brought to the Big Apple. For those of you who couldn't attend, you were sorely missed. However, the New York Times, Paper Mag, NY Mag, Style.com, the New York Post, Racked, and Refinery29 all posted articles on our NY residency. It was so much fun, we're can't wait for the next one. Third time's a charm!

READ ALL ABOUT IT: D2 WOWS THE WIRES

Color me psyched: while surfing the web this morn in serach of style scoops, I couldn't help but notice that news of D2's NY cameo had traveled fast. Both Paper Mag and NY Mag ran super stories on our second pop-up shop shop, which will open its doors to the public on October 2-4, at KiKi de Montparnasse, 79 Greene St., NYC. Thanks a million billion!

Meanwhile, back on the left coast, I had to post these pants. I know, I know--I've been anti-metallics since Pink and Shakira both rocked the same chain dress at the VMAS. Enough already with looking like a nickel. A girl wants to win an Oscar, not look like Oscar. Gauntlet throw to the wind, I drew my line in the sand. No metallics.
But then I saw these babies and remembered every rule has an exception. I mean, these are Balenciaga stetchy metallic copper pants. Yep. Stretchy metallic. I don't even know how they crafted these pants which could only come back from the future. Except that the technology for fabrication is on point--they are comfy like sweats but cool like chaps!
Balenciaga woven copper pants. In a size 44 and priced at $450.
