Yesterday's temperature was no freaking joke. The temperature rumored to hover around 113° in town. Oy vey. Managing to keep it cool when the heat ergister is off the charts is no easy feat. That's why we employed our sassy sales lady Mayasha Long to step in and style an outfit that won't have a girl melting on the 405 for our latest In Style guest post. Here's what she came up with.

Whoever said the Valley was reserved for side ponytails and scrunchy socks was dead wrong. There's some serious fashion to be found over the 101. Especially at our favorite Dancing with Stars chictestant Lisa Rinna's Belle Gray boutique. That's why we've chosen to kick off our fall leg of our pop-up tour at Belle Gray October 8-9. Come down and dig double the fashion fun. Between the ton of sartorial treasures we'll be brigining and the Belle Grey goods, you'll be swimming in style!

One of our favorite fashion sites, Style Section LA, ran amazing coverage of the Angelenos showing in NY fashion week. We loved their piece--especially the blurb on rising star Juan Carlos Obando. Check out their sartorial musings HERE!

Fall's color palette is steeped in rich neutrals: from beige to tan to camel, stone to concrete to slate. No one but no one does neutrals better than Gucci and YSL. The two houses both have mastered sexy and sophisticated looks in a modern and clean neutral palette. We thin a LGD (little grey dress) is a must for fall. Luckily for you guys, we've posted a slew of them in our latest Hautelook sale, which showcases the sartorial talents of Gucci & YSL. Check 'em out!

Saucy salesgirl Jessica caught red-handed in naugty moment online! Just kidding. She's helping our favorite stylist St. Patrick with a pretty purchase.
Usually, the stars are shining on Hollywood Blvd., but during last night's Fashion Night Out, we welcomed the glitterati a few blocks south, here on famed fashion epicenter, Melrose Avenue. It's no wonder. When you offer a curated collection of 400 dresses priced at $400 AND UNDER, fashionistas are sure to show. And you did in droves. It was such a pleasure seeing you last night. We can't wait to check you out in your new fab frocks! For those of you who couldn't make it, enjoy party pics and coverage all throughout the day! And remember, no matter the date, every night out should be a fashionable night out!

Ever since I first saw Marlene Deitritch, I've been crazy about borrowed-from-the-boys suiting for girls. Marlene looked especially smoking in her luxe tux attire complete with top hat. Rather than go to Brooks Brothers to pick up a tuxe for myself, I've decided instead on this Sharon Wauchob jacket. complete with nipped in waist and metallic treated lapels, this jacket is the modern answer to deco-era androgeny.
*Sharon Wauchob jacket with metallic lapels. In a size 38. Priced at $450.

Seems like there's always a reason to celebrate: President's Day, St. Patrick's Day, heck there's even a Flag Day. So we couldn't be more thrilled that fashion is finally getting its due. Next week marks the second annual Fashion Night Out. And as you guys know, we're such style supporters, that we just had to get in the mix. So, we've partnered up with two of our favorite fashion institutions: Racked LA, whose fashion coverage is a daily must-read on our web roll, and Hautelook--who hosts the most fabulous online private sales. Together, we're hosting a smashing soiree on September 10th, from 6-9pm. But, if kicking it with the coolest kids in town isn't enough of a reason to drop by, try this one on for size. Christos Garkinos and the Decadestwo team have curated an amazing collection of 400 dress--each priced at $400 or less. There's also a $1000 Decadestwo shopping spree, a $1000 Hautelook shopping and a custom dress designed by Alexis Phifer up for grabs. Oh and for those of you who might, I don't know, get trapped under a rock, don't worry. The dress collection will be available in store on the 11th and the 12th. Because every night out should be a fashionable night out, if you ask us.

My own personal style runs more towards a borrowed-from-the-boys aesthetic than frilly flounces, but there's just something about Alberta's Ferretti's feminine touch that I can't resist. Take this jazzy jacket for example. Crafted with grosgrain ribbon detailing, velvet trim, embroidery and black beading--the square shape of the beads, the neutral color palette and the military inspiration take this form-fitting jacket and make it sweet and light without seeming too girly girl. In fact, I could even rock it with my Ann D combat boots for a softer take on my avant-garde androgynous vision.
