EQUESTRIAN ELEGANCE!!!

Ok, it seems like the majority of this week's posts have been a sort of homage series to the jacket. It's true that I have a soft spot in my heart for a chic coat or cover-up. I'm mad for blazers, sport coats, windbreakers, moto jackets, the whole shebang. In particular, I'm crazy for any piece that looks as if it just came off of some impossibly chic east coast girl who spent her summer showing in the Hampton Classic. Basically, it's National Velvet chic. So when I saw this jazzy jacket from Balenciaga, I had to show it off. Crafted in a moldy monied tweed and accetned with nouveau riche rubberized trim, this baby is a blue winner for sure!

HUSTLE AND BUSTLE

If Vivienne Westwood has taught us anything, it's that a little hustle and bustle never hurt anyone. The bustle itself, created in the mid-1800s, was boned and draped until it created a rather large pouf around a ladies . . . well, bum. While we get that most modern women aren't exactly frothing at the mouth to rock gear that enhances a tricky area, we're ardent supporters of a woman's derierre. And her right to show it off!

SAY YES TO YVES!

Listen--aside from encouraging a bustle or two, a 12 inch McQueen stiletto or wearing a dress crafted like a swan, we are in fact fans of comfort dressing. We just prefer easy pieces that are chic rather than shabby. But we understand a girl's need to rest and relax at the end of a hard day of work and to switch into something more comfortable. We just don't understand why that piece had to be made of velour or come with a logo stiched across the bum. So, for all the ladies who are looking for something soft and cozy, we've picked an Yves Saint Laurent patchwork fur pullover--complete with brass button closures on the side--which beat the hell out of a drawstring rope any day.

Bal-MAIN SQUEEZE!

Balmain is the jam. Repeat. The jam! Just ask any actress who's been photographed on the red carpet. Rocking a Balmain bedazzled mini is a sure fire way to get on any best dressed list. The same goes for his day wear--clothes that sport a mix of Bladerunner chic with haute high society. In other words, these clothes belong to your coolest cousin who dropped out of high-school and ran around the world with Depeche Mode circa Violator. Christopher Decarin = Personal Jesus.
*Balmain white cropped military jacket. In a size 40. Priced at $2000.

JAZZED ABOUT JIMMY!

Dear Santa,
I hope that this letter finds you well and hopefully H1N1 free. I hear its a real doozy. This year I just want to say that I have been a really good girl. As per usual, I will ask you for a pony, but understand if you cannot wrap and pack a baby horse in your big red tote. That said, I am slightly jealous of your seemingly bottomless bag--I desperately need something chic, suede and sizable enough to carry all of my essentials which may include at any given point in time a picolo, a mini pomeranian and a clementine. Or two. So, if you have to forego the pony (again!), then maybe you could hook me up with this Jimmy Choo bag. It's got style, it's got sass and it really suits this lass.

OH MY MISSONI!

My favorite thing about winter is that I get to indulge in what amounts to a crazy cardigan addiction. That's right. I heart a cardigan. I've been collecting cardigans since I was a little girl. Forever eschewing the crew neck, the V neck, and the pullover if favor of the button up, my collection is so large that it must be housed in storage in warmer summer months. So, whenever an especially chic cardi comes through the door, I kvell with excitement.

Now, for those of you who have yet to invest in Missoni, the time is now. A Missoni piece is a must. The squiggle knits are iconic, the yarns employed are the super softest and the style will never ever go out of fashion. Luckily for you guys, I've found the ultimate cardigan for this wrap-around part of winter known in the fashion world as Resort/Cruise. It's crafted in a rich rose mauve with Spring's colors du jours: blue and yellow and features scalloped edging. (Sigh.) I just want you all to know that it took an extreme amount of restraint on my part to post this bad boy instead of snatch it up for yours truly. Enjoy!

PRECIOUS IN PUCCI

We love Pucci. I mean, the graphic geomtric prints peppered with the Pucci logo are infamous. The print itself is a sign of understated luxury that somehow manages to be bright and fresh while elegant and classic. Not a small feat when you're employing colors of a primary spectrum. So when you then go and encrust the entire thing in beads and sparkle-y gems, we die. Bananas.

OUR LATEST GREATEST LBD

Ah . . . the Little Black Dress. A sartorial staple for any fashionista--you just can't go wrong the LBD. Created over 80 years ago by (of course) Coco Chanel, the LBD embodied a new way of dawn-to-dusk dressing. In 1926, French Vogue called the LBD the uniform of any modern woman. And 80 years later, she's still going stong.
Audrey Hepburn's LBD from Breakfast at Tiffany's recently sold for over $1,02 million at auction. Besides, ho can forget the safety-pin Versace number that put a then unknown Elizabeth Hurley on the map? According to Karl Lagerfeld, a woman can't be over or under dressed in an LBD. Next to diamonds, she really is a girl's best friend. My favorite LBD is a little Dolce & Gabbana number--crafted in lamb fur. It's short, sexy and super luxurious. What more could a girl ask for?
*Dolce & Gabbana black lamb fur mini dress. In a Italian size 42. Priced at $5000.

OH OSCAR!

Ok, its time for sleigh rides on horse drawn carriages through the park--i.e. Carrie & Petrovsky before they went to Paris, of course. The sleigh bells are ringing--are you listening? Luckily--we are here to hook you up for a little romance in the snow. That's why we've posted this uber cute Oscar De La Renta coat with hand embroidery and sequin detailing. It fits in perfectly with Fall's dark and luxurious from-Russia-with-love trending but more importantly will set you up for a little snuggling with love.

*Oscar De La Renta cashmere coat with embroidery and sequin details. In a size 4. Originally retailed for $10,000. Priced at $3250.

HOLY HERMES!

OK--Call me crazy but if this Hermes A-line shirtdress was mine I would be wearing it everyday, every which way. It could be worn over tights, with pants, with a riding blazer--the possibilities are endless. Of course, I'd pair it with a thick Chanel chain belt and call it a day. Talk about serving up some chic with a side of chic on top of chic!

BOUCLE BABY!

Boucle: a fabric comprised of woven yarn with a loops and often a nubby surface. Also--the signature Chanel fabric used to comprised their signature jacket. A classic Chanel must-have piece is a black boucle blazer/jacket. This piece from Fall 2006 is good example. Classic in its cut and shape, this jacket also features "ribbon" boucle detailing with gold metallic trim and raw edging details. Of course, if you disagree, you could come to sale and pick you perfect LBB (little black blazer--duh!)

GIMME FIVE, 2.55!!!

Named after the date of its creation (February 1955), the 2.55 is perhaps the ultimate Chanel handbag. It's diamond quilted herringbone stitch is legendary and said to be inspired from cushions in Coco's paris apartment. The double chain stapping was added so that society ladies could free their hands at social functions. My favorite piece of 2.55 lore--the zippered pocket underneath the front flap is where Coco was said to keep her love letters from her many gentlemen callers.
Of course, we'll have scads and scads of 2.55's available at our 6th annual 2.55 sale. Here's a preview of some of the schwag!

The next time you're getting mouthy and someone says "Don't make me tell you what time it is," you can whip out your Chanel timepiece, tap the face, flaunt the bling and say, "Oh, that's ok. I already know." Swiss made with black patent leather strap and quartz crystal, this baby will shut it down faster than you can say, "Hello Chanel-O!"

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Ok, you're right. It isn't fair. Sometimes we play hard to get, other times we tease. And we're wholly to blame. For putting up the most amazing pieces of Chanel that we've collected and curated for our 6th annual Chanel celebration. So, in honor of the event, we'll be posting selections from our collection, which we plan to unveil on Wednesday, December 6th, with extended store hours 10 am to 7 pm.
Like for example this metallic woven boucle military jacket with sparkly camellia appliques and CC laquered button closures. From the Cruise 2008 collection. Of course, it won't be available for sale until the 9th. And yeah, we'll be seeing you then. I think you could still find a reasonable plane ticket to LA if need be . . .

THE CARDIGANS!

No, not the band. The sweater.
You know, it's funny. At the time, Coco, with her men's suiting and her practical approach to design was considered wild and revolutionary. Today, her designs are the gold standard of prim, proper, ladylike elegance. And the cardigans are the epitome of this sort of ladylike je-ne-sais-quoi. Personally, I'm partial to this cashmere cardigan encrusted with black and white printed sequins in a CC logo pattern. But that's just me. You'll have to come to the sale to see for yourself.

CUCKOO FOR COCO PUFFS!

Now that the leaves of Fall have gently turned from green to gold, a winter wonderland has descended upon us. And you know what that means--for D2 girls, Santa comes early, bringing a big bag filled to the brim with Chanel, Chanel and more Chanel. That's right ladies: it's our annual Chanel celebration. We're talking boucle up the wazoo, 2.55's as far the eye can see, and costume jewelry that'll transport you from 8214 Melrose to 30 Rue de Cambon (ok, we may have gone a bit far on that last one. We can't guarantee these items will actually break the laws of physics. But they'll come close!)

The Chanel bonanza will be held on Wednesday, December 9th @ D2, located at 8214 Melrose. And we'll be extending our store hours for the event from 10-7. BUT FOR A LUCKY FEW: there will be an opportunity to preshop the sale. We are reserving 50 spots for clients during the day on Tuesday December 8th from 10 am-5pm.

To guarantee your first look position, we ask that you contribute $50 at the store entry to one of our favorite charities –Beyond Shelter.  Beyond Shelter (www.beyondshelter.org)  is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 in response to increasing numbers of homeless families in Los Angeles and the need for a more comprehensive approach to serving them.

Decadestwo will match your $50 contribution to the charity.  We will send you further details once you reserve your place. Please contact todd@decadestwo.com to do so.

CHADO IN THE HIZOUSE!!!

I loved "Where the Wild Things Are"--especially Lance Acord's gorgy gorg cinematography as well the bee-yoo-ti-ful landscape. The color palette of sandy neutrals was just a sight to behold. That's why I grabbed this amazing Ralph Chado gathered silk jacket. The complicated construction of swirled silk takes my breath away and looks like some kinda alien life-form in and of itself. For the wild thing in all of us!

GOTTA PRADA!!!

OK--Thanksgiving is three days away and you ladies know what that means. In addition to drinking broth three times a day so that you can go hog wild come Turkey Day (I'm talking thirds on the mashed potatoes), it also means that party season is upon us. For those of you with significant others, you may find that your holiday obligations double. How ever is a girl to dress for all the reveling? One thing to do is to take your fave LBD and re-accessorize. We suggest a short little cocktail number paired with these fauxhawk heels. Shazaam! Crisis averted!

POSTED IN THE POST!!!

The Washington Post that is! Read all about it. Decadestwo is serious news baby! So much that Christos was interviewed for a piece that ran in the Washinton Post. The article focuses on Holiday glam and Christos waxes poetic on what to expect this Xmas. It's such a chic piece--we just had to tell you about. But don't just take our word for it. FUR REAL!!!

There's something about these furs that I absolutely love. They're the epitome of Coney Island chic. Not that you'd wear these puppies to sit at Cyclones Game (Go Cyclones!) but more along the lines of Drea de Matteo leaves the red carpet and rides on her boyfriend's bike out to Coney Island because she has to have a hot dog and some Nathan's fries. I mean, a short sheared fur on the boardwalk--gimme a break, Nell Carter. That is some fashions right there.

SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE!!!

OMG! I just love a little bling! Around the neck, on the finger, heck I'd put some diamanté rims on my Volvo station wagon given half the chance. So, when I saw the razzle-dazzle gem belt by Chanel. I knew I just had to post about it. Of course, what is there to discuss. It's a friggin' super shiny gem belt by Chanel for goodness sakes'. It needs no introduction. I'd wear it to Trader Joe's, to the bank, to a gala, to drinks, on a lap in my own apartment. I mean, it's Chanel. It goes with everything. Discussion over. I'll take two.
*Chanel gem belt. New with tags. Priced at $270.
