Just wanted to let you know, it's anuual COCO CHANEL show and just because we love you so, we're going to give you guys and gals a preview of the goods and bows. (Ok, not our best rhyme scheme, but we're doing our best).

Chanel Cruise 2005 Baby Blue Belted Boucle Jacket

1892 marks the first reorded use of the term baby blue. Baby blue is commonly regarded as a pastel which is a lighter shade of cyan and in the blue color family. New Age philosopher Alan Watts once suggested that police cars of San Francisco be painted baby blue and white and the painting program was implemented in the 1970's--though the cars were later repainted law enforcement standard black-and-white. Such a shame--there's something super chic about baby blue that still commands attention. Chanel Navy Boucle Crop Jacket w Sequins

Ok, ladeez . . . pull up a chair and bust out a pencil--it's D2 sequin school! Ah, sequins . . . our favorite decorative flat bead goes way back--did you know she was used on signs and billboards before the advent of neon lights? The word itself has mutli-culti origins and is thought to come from from the arabic word sikka, meaning gold coin. The public mint of the Republic of Venice in was titled la Zecca and in the year 1284, the 3.5 gram golden coins that it produced were called zecchin. In 1478, Turkey debuted a gold coin with same name and Malta followed suit in 1535. The French then adapted that word to sequin and then the english stole it. In cultures where the sequins originated, their display on clothing and headdresses denoted the family's wealth. It was this custom that evolved into the use of these flat little suckers as ornamentation on clothing today. And hey, we love gold coins & we love sequins--the better when combined with a Chanel navy boucle jacket. The size/composition tag are missing but this baby is approximately a size 40. 2. A feminist revolution who completely did way with corset

3. Originally a milliner who got her start placing her hats on the heads of famous French actresses

4. Held a tight grip over the reigns of Chanel by presiding as chief designer from 1909 - 1971

WE GOT SCOOPED--WTF?

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, . . . so we got in a truckload of Fendi baguette bags, and before we could shoot the suckers, we got SCOOPED by none other than LA's favorite It Gal, Writer, Style Maker and Taste Dictator: Rose Apodaca. So, sorry we've been a little slow on the uptake (we've been so busy--we started grad school, we're dating, and driving Christos crazy) but without further adieu, we're here to present the Fendi baguettes in all their glory! The baguette made it's resounding debut in 1997 and the following posts celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Italian houses significant accessories contribution. The baguette, named for its ease in carry underneath the crook of the arm--like a baguette, is a must for any style girl with both a little class and a little flash!

Fendi Deco Beaded Baguette Handbag

First, let's talk Fendi. A little background into the Italian megabrand, if you will. Fendi began in 1918, when Adele Casagrande opened a leather shop in Via del Plebiscito in Central Rome. She then married Edoardo Fendi in 1925 and together, the lovebirds decided to change the name of the biz to Fendi. Their 5 daughters (the Fendi's were verrrrrry busy apparently and excellent multi-taskers if you ask me) would later come on board the Fendi ship, and the sisters were instrumental in hiring a young german upstart in 1965, named Karl Lagerfeld, to helm the brand. Since its conception, Fendi has always been associated with luxury and this bag beautifully epitomizes their elegant with a little somethin' extra style.
