Chanel Spring 2003 Cream Boucle Jacket with Sequins

Ah, mademoiselle Chanel, the lady made famous for tailoring men's fashions to suit both her whimsical and practical needs. In fact the contributions to women's fashions for which she is still most associated with today, her soft-bleted coats, tweeds and blazers, sailor sweaters and cuff linked shirts, were all inspired by the Duke of Westminster's wardrobe. We love a borrowed-from-the-boys look and find the perfect mix of masculine/feminine in this Spring 2003 blazer. Slightly boxy, it has a longer huntsman cut and design but is accented with miniature sequin details. Ah, Chanel. They always get it right. In a size 40 and in mint condition. For further information or to purchase, please contact: thegang@decadestwo.com

Chanel Spring 1999 Rainbow Tweed Boucle Blazer

Visable when water droplets are in the air and the sun is shining behind you at a low altitude, Mr. Biv is a seven colored quatised arc aka the rainbow. And, to be frank, there's something just something about this rainbow tweed boucle blazer from Chanel's 1999 Spring collection that just makes us feel like kicking up our heels, and singing down the yellow brick road like a handholding friend of Dorothy! In a size 44 and priced at $800. In next-to-new condition. For further information or to purchase, please contact: thegang@decadestwo.com

Chanel Champagne Boucle Spring 2003 Blazer

"A woman should wear fragrance wherever she expects to be kissed." -CoCo Chanel

At the beginning of the 20th century, CoCo chanel comissioned Enrest Beaux to create 6 samples of perfume for her. Bottle No. 5 was the one she liked best--perhaps due to the fact that a fortune teller had once told CoCo that her lucky number was the number 5--and in keeping with her auspicious numerical forecast, she introduced the fragrance to some of her friends on 5/5/1921. Originally, the perfume was given away free to favored clients and the dressing rooms at Chanel were scented with No. 5. In 1924, Chanel partnered with Pierre Wertheimer and the fragrance was sold internationally.

Sales of the scent increased exponentially when in 1953 Marilyn Monroe was asked what she wore to bed. Monroe's infamous answer: "Two drops of Chanel No. 5" So dab on a little No. 5, wherever you expect to be kissed, throw this chic champagne boucle blazer from the Spring 2003 collection over a silk cami and create that Chanel je ne sais quoi mystique--in Coco herself's words, "something abstact and unique". In a size 36 and priced at $1300. For further information or to purchase, please contact: thegang@decadestwo.com

Chanel Cruise 2005 Baby Blue Belted Boucle Jacket

1892 marks the first reorded use of the term baby blue. Baby blue is commonly regarded as a pastel which is a lighter shade of cyan and in the blue color family. New Age philosopher Alan Watts once suggested that police cars of San Francisco be painted baby blue and white and the painting program was implemented in the 1970's--though the cars were later repainted law enforcement standard black-and-white. Such a shame--there's something super chic about baby blue that still commands attention. Like this Chanel Cruise 2005 baby blue boucle belted jacket with rope knotted trim, CC silver button closures and interior chain at the hem. In a size 38 and available for $1300! For further information or to purchase, please contact: thegang@decadestwo.com

And nothin' but nothin' says "Sorry-Krystal-I'm-moving-into-my-old-art-studio-on-the-Carrington-estate-and-whoops-Fallon-you're-father-is-really-Cecil-Colby" better than this silver pebbled jaquard jacket from Chanel. Chanel Navy Boucle Crop Jacket w Sequins

Ok, ladeez . . . pull up a chair and bust out a pencil--it's D2 sequin school! Ah, sequins . . . our favorite decorative flat bead goes way back--did you know she was used on signs and billboards before the advent of neon lights? The word itself has mutli-culti origins and is thought to come from from the arabic word sikka, meaning gold coin. The public mint of the Republic of Venice in was titled la Zecca and in the year 1284, the 3.5 gram golden coins that it produced were called zecchin. In 1478, Turkey debuted a gold coin with same name and Malta followed suit in 1535. The French then adapted that word to sequin and then the english stole it. In cultures where the sequins originated, their display on clothing and headdresses denoted the family's wealth. It was this custom that evolved into the use of these flat little suckers as ornamentation on clothing today. And hey, we love gold coins & we love sequins--the better when combined with a Chanel navy boucle jacket. The size/composition tag are missing but this baby is approximately a size 40. In next to new condition and priced at $900. For further information or to purchase, please contact: thegang@ decadestwo.com
