PRETTY AS A PRINCESS!!!

Growing up, every girl hears tales of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. And even those those little girls may live to rock some goth garb in the vein of Rick Owens or Gareth Pugh, somewhere, every gal casts herself in her version of a fairy tale as the princess. Even if the princess is more Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice than Robin Wright Penn in The Princess Bride.
Either way, we've come up with a princess look that pretty much on the sparkle mark for any girl. Pink and pleated up top and multi-layres of black below. Come to think of it--this baby would also work for any girl who imagines herself as the princess of the 80s airwaves, Alexis Carrington.
*Oscar De La Renta ballgown skirt and top. Priced at $1900. In a size 6.

Running wouldn't be ladylike, but damsels, get thee to The Duchess toute suite! th efilm, which centers around Duchess Geogiana Devonshire, 18th century It-Girl, direct ancestor of Lady Diana Spencer and chic celebutante who used her title and reputation to inspire the masses towards political reformation. We love it when anyone uses their fashion powers for good! it also doesn't hurt that our favorite fashion face, Charlotte Rampling, takes a turn in the film as Georgiana's mother. Oscar De La Renta Ice Blue Satin Gown

Blue Ice occurs when falling snow lands on a glacier and has the misfortune of being compressed, becoming part of the large ice cube as it makes its way towards a body of water. Drag. Pretty to look at though. The color results from an overtone that the OH molecule creates when it absorbs light at the red portion of the visable light spectrum. The Oscar De La Renta gown below is not in fact crafted out of blue ice (though if anyone could . . .) but rather ice blue . . . satin and features a lingerie inspired interior boned bodice (to keep the twins at full attention) delicate greco-roman halter tie around the neck and in the rear at the ribcage. In a size 6, retailed for $2950 and in mint condition! Priced at $1250. For further information or to purchase, please contact: thegang@decadestwo.com

Oscar De La Renta Black & White Evening Gown

Truman Capote first hosted his legendary "Black & White Ball" on November 28, 1966 in honor of Washington Post publisher, Katherine Graham. The gala was held in the Grand Ballroom of New York City's famed Plaza Hotel. It was considered from that season forward, one of, if not the social events of the year. Nicknamed, the "Versailles of the Sixties", the first Black & White ball boasted an impressive and eclectic guest list including Tallulah Bankhead, Lauren Bacall, and Capote's own elevator operator. Partygoers allegedly heard Norman Mailer rant about Vietnam, spotted Candace Bergen yawning, and spied Mr. Frank Sinatra dancing with his new bride, Mia Farrow. In honor of the Black & White Ball, we picked an Oscar De La Renta gown fit for the fete. Crafted in black and white striped grosgrain ribbon, this dazzling dress feautres black and white beading and black tipped white feather trim on each of the stripes on the skirt. In a perfect size 6 and in next-to-new condition! Priced at $3000. For further information or to purchase, please contact: thegang@decadestwo.com

Oscar De La Renta Spring 2006 Cocktail Dress

In the 1940's, couturiers introduced dancing costumes or dresses, with a full skirt of a shorter length than an evening gown, made for semi-formal or formal occasions. Revisit the fashion forwardness of the WWII era with the fashion forwardness of today's OscarDe La Renta. From the Spring 2006 collection, we have the cream colored version of the black/white gown shown on the runway (see below). In a size 6, this dazzling dress features nylon gathering over cream colored tulle, with a starched petticoated skirt and lingerie inspired boned bodice (keeps the girls where they should be). In next-to-new condition and priced at $3000. For further information or to purchase, please contact: thegang@decadestwo.com
