SEA SHELLS AT THE SEASHORE!!!

Talk to me Burberry. First you go and come up with the greatest tartan ever. Then you go and line the greatest trench ever with the greatest tartan ever. Then you go and get the greatest model ever (Miss Katie M fools) to wear the greatest trench lined with the greatest tartan. Then you go and keep churning out the greatest goods ever--including this large tote encrusted with gunmetal seashells. I just love it!

OK CK!!!

Well, it's after Memorial Day and we're taking advantage and wearing as much white as we possibly can. Truth be told, we rarely, if ever, mind conventions AND we can always get behind wearing white--no matter what the season. This Calvin Klein shirt dress is perfect for summer--with it's sexy back cut-out detail. Pair it with tights and a cropped leather mini jacket and you've got a chic look for Fall that you can sport well after Labor Day.
*Calvin Klein white shirtdress. In a size 6. Priced at $250.

CHIC IN CAVALLI!!!

Um . . . there's something about this dress. It reminds of something I would expect Chrystal Carrington might wear. And/or Fallon. Come to think of it, it's totally Fallon, milling through the garden and evading marriage proposals at the Carrington mansion on a balmy Denver eve. Love it.
*Roberto Cavalli evening gown. Priced at $1350.

DO DVF!

WRAP IT UP! I know that Diane Von Furstenberg is know for the wrap dress. But another one of her strengths is her pretty prints. Perfect for summer fun, DVF prints are colorful and elegant and feminine. Just like the floral print on this sundress. It's light and lovely and airy and looks somewhat like an impressionist painting. Consider this the Van Gogh of sundresses. Gogh DVF!

OH MY MISSONI!

Did you guys see Valley Girl? I fell in lurve with the rainbow bright stripes of the Val Gals. I wished that I had a singlet-style one-piece that I ran out of the water and into a young Nicolas Cage's arms (and speaking of which, how cute was his punk-meets-new-wave-wear?).

Well, this Missoni takes me back to that time, an oh-Mickey-you're-so-fine-you're-so-fine-you-blow-my-mind-time. It's like the luxe version of a striped leotard, with a super sexy halter top and subdued yet saucy color palette. I'm ready to throw this baby on and like roller skate to Dupar's. It's totally tubular.

*Missoni striped halter dress. In a size 38. Priced at 750.

SO IN STYLE!

Guess what day it is? That's right. It's Twosday--and our weekly posting on In Style.com is live!
This week, we've posted a few terrific totes for the taking. After all, a great bag is a necessity--you have to carry your essentials in something stylish! So, we turned to fashion's sartorial stalwarts YSL and Lanvin along with Bottega Veneta (aka the holy grail of handbags) for inspiration. Needless to say, they did not disappoint. Click here to check it out!

BALENCIAGA BABY!

A true classic never goes out of style. And while this Balenciaga bag is perhaps too new to be a classic, the style has certainly been a fave of startlets, scenesters and style-makers everywhere. All Balenciaga bags have enjoyed "It Bag" status--never falling out of favor. Suffice to say, the girls we know who have them, rock them, keeping these babies in heavy rotation.

Personally, I prefer the verticality of the Balenciaga DAY bag to its horizontal counterparts (CITY, PART-TIME, FIRST). Additionally, the Day bag has something more 70s gypsy than uber-metro-power-bitch. Don't get me wrong--I'll throw down with an Alaia bondage mini, metal stilettos and some Gaultier cropped/shoulder padded jacket any day of the week. But there's something (to my way of thinking) about the shape of the DAY bag that reminds me of cruising down Highway 61, with my hand out the window, weaving waves into the air.

Besides, I need the room of the Day bag. I mean, who knows what you may have to bring on a fashion emergency???

*Balenciaga mocha Day bag. Retails in stores for $1145 and priced at $700.

PLEATS PLEASE!

OK, so obviously, we would never pair these two together. But pleated numbers are a modern jet-setters BFF. Trust. Especially for those spur-of-the moment trips to . . . say . . . Fiji or the South of France or Antigua or just camping at your local surf spot. And for fun-in-the sun trips, these two are an endless payback on a solid investment. Pleats don't wrinkle--no matter how you pack them. So when that gorgeous gent leans across the bar and asks if you'd like to go for a drive to Cabo, tell him it'll take you 5 minutes to get ready. And let me tell you why . . .

First--an LBD is an essential--no matter the season. This slightly sheer, totally slinky and sexy Balenciaga number is super chic and works as a cover-up at the beach. However, when paired with heels or strappy sandals, this dress is the ultimate cool for cocktails item. And the scarf works as a sarong at the BBQ, not to mention covering up your suntanned shoulders come nightfall.

Throw in a bikini, some strappy sandals, a tunic and a pair of cut-off denims and you're good to go. Bon Voyage!

*Balenciaga pleated knit dress. Priced at $750.
**Akris cashmere pleated shawl. Priced at $220.

MASTERFUL LIKE A REMBRANDT!

Ok, so this is anything but a Monet. You know, lovely from afar but a big ole mess close-up. (Don't even deny you saw Clueless--girl, we know you saw it three times in the theatre and cried when Cher and Josh smooched on her stairs.) So, we've decided it has the grace and elegance of a Rembrandt (not the toothcare line.) Although the print is a little more Dali than the Dutch master, the dress sports delicate yet perfect lines with a dazzling use of color and craftsmanship befitting any artist who winds up with their hanging in the Louvre. In fact, I'm not sure whether to wear it or frame it.

REACH FOR RICCI!

It's hard to find an all-in-one dress. You know--a dress you can throw over a bikini or pair with a birkin. A dress that's right for any occasion from dinner at the in-laws to clubbing with the kids. Basically, an all-in-one dress is like a girl's version of a army knife. Nothing comes in handier.

So, leave it to Nina Ricci to solve the problem. This little number is crafted from a flowy floral print but accented with rows of glamazon beaded details. It's also short enough to be hot but definitely is not hoochie. The dark color calls to mind a kind of dark romance but the loose fit makes it fancy free. Talk about a study in contradiction. But--it works!

I want to wear this dress everywhere: to the Hotel Figueroa, to the MOMA, to Zuma, to Trader Vic's, to Trader Joe's . . . the list goes on and on.

Nina Ricci Fall 2009 floral printed dress with multi-strands of beads. In a size 38. Originally retailed for $3450 and priced at $895.

EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

From Melrose Avenue to Wall Street, good news travels fast. Which is perhaps how we wound up gracing the pages of the Wall Street Journal. A fantastic feature appeared about D2 in today's paper. The article, which includes a slideshow of saucy snaps of Christos and one of our most elegant consigners, Patricia Whitcraft, details a fabulous aspect of our business: the housecall.

Oftentimes, our clients have clothing collections that are so extensive, we have to pay them a visit, rather than set up an appointment at the store. Usually, these visits involve editing our client's entire closet (or closets, renovated rooms for sartorial storage, guest houses dedicated as "walk-ins"), by a keep, store, toss, consign philosophy. And we usually walk away with a treasure trove of goodies: Chanel boucle ordered straight off the runway, Louis Vuitton limited-edition handbags, full Goyard luggage sets, you name it. And most importantly, we get spend a little QT with our beloved clients, who, if you ask us, are the chicest ladies in the world.

If you don't believe us, READ THE ARTICLE! There's PICTURES to prove it!

DAZZLING DRESSES!

OK ladies, it's time to make that . . . ehem . . . waxing appointment and break out the sunscreen: Summer is here! Time to rock some short shorts, mini skirts and barely-there dresses. Of course, for those of you who have to say, put in face time a family function, knee-length is totally appropriate. Just tuck you fave bikini in your purse just in case you wind up somewhere fresh. Of course, if you're carrying a clutch that only fits a lipstick and your keys, we're not opposed to skinny dipping!
However, even if you should hit the water in your birthday suit, you'll still need something to coverup at the cocktail party afterwards. Which brings me back to my original point. No matter where you'll wind up this summer, you'll need the perfect. And have them for you. Posted on Hautelook.com. Until tomorrow. Run ladies. Don't walk.

ICONOGRAPHY!

Guess who Racked LA picked as their latest Style Icon? That's right--our very own Christos Garkinos. Racked rocked Christos' brain for style tips, trend forecasts, closet conundrums, Do's, Don't's, and Don't Even Go There's. As always, he looked chicer-than-chic from head (cloak coat) to toe (YSL kicks, of course). Run to Racked to read the article in full, get the D2 dish, and flip through photos!

FUN IN THE SUN!

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through jasmine of my mind . . . and my gorgeous new summer sundresses! Summer is finally here and here to stay! We're jazzed about all the backyard bar-b-ques, poolside cocktail parties, and trips to the beach that lie ahead. Of course, a girl's gotta have a sassy and sexy wardrobe to make an appearance at all the fun-in-the-sun functions. So Christos and the Decadestwo team have curated an amazing collection for summer to post on Hautelook for a sale starting tomorrow Tuesday June 8 - Thursday June 10.

We're talking bright printed sundresses, terrific tunics, chic cover-ups and lightweight knits. And speaking of knits--we've gathered together a grip of Missoni--in signature rainbow squiggles--that are just perfect for summer's fancy-free flair. We've also included a ton of Tory Burch, whose elegant ethnic inspired clothing is made for every boho babe. Surf's Up!

HELLO CHANEL-O!

I get a little crazy if I don't blog about Chanel every so often. It starts as a twitch and ends with me sobbing like a little girl in the dressing room. Ok, so that might be a gross exageration. However, it would be impossible to pretend that this Chanel perforated leather bag with signature chain strapping is anything short of perfection. And that's no exaggeration.

DECADESTWO TOUR 2010! NEXT STOP: SAN FRANCISCO

We've been hightailing it all over this summer! First Houston, then New York, now our neighbors to the north (no, not Canada) San Francisco! And believe me, our latest pop-up will be a real four alarm fire! Not to worry, we're setting up the historic Fire Station at Fort Mason so all flames will be contained to the sale.

PRINTS PLEASE!

We're mad for ETRO! I mean, what's not to love about those super luxe hippie prints? Delicious, de-gorgeous, deeeee-lovely! (Ok, I've been breaking out my Deee-Lite records.) It can be hard to rock a flouncy & colorful print in winter, but now that its 80+ degrees, a bright print is in order. Don't you think? We knew that you would. That's why we've picked an Etro dress. Replete with a signature print and ombre tie-dye detailing, this halter will show off thos e been-to-the beach tanned shoulders. De-vine!
